This week we look at an interesting project which has just been DA approved by Ku-Ring-Gai council.
The medium density project is located at 7-11 College Crescent Rd, St Ives and 140 Killeaton Rd, St Ives.
The project took over one year to get approved through council. There would have been immense preparation work from the architects NKT Architecture and Katcorp Constructions to get to submission.
The site is a consolidation of 4 houses into 5 stand alone residential buildings comprised of 27 townhouses, which include basement car parking and landscaping.
Zoning is within R3 (medium density) under the Ku-ring-gai LEP 2012. This zoning effectively means ’3 or more dwellings, whether attached or detached’.
The 5 stand alone buildings are divided into:
Bulding A – 6 townhouses
Building B – 4 townhouses
Building C – 10 townhouses
Building D – 2 townhouses
Building E – 5 townhouses
Key features of the projects finishes incorporate stone cladding, rendered brick and masonry, boxed window surrounds, entry trellis structures, metal pergola and batten cladding.
